All sawmills are maintained to the highest possible standards and through using technology we are able to ensure excellent cutting accuracy and efficiency of production. Kiwi Lumber sawmills also employ environmentally friendly energy recycling systems that minimise impact to the environment by utilising sawmill residues to generate energy for the sawmilling operations.

Our sawmills are designed for maximising grade recovery from the log resource.

Large pruned logs are able to yield a larger proportion of clear lumber. Clear grades are cut from the outside of the log.

Sawmill Grader Qualifications

Our experienced graders are qualified in grading to the New Zealand Timber Grading Rules (NZS 3631:1988).
